One full day paddle to our Back Run Campground, followed by a short paddle day two!
This trip features some fun rapids, great wilderness scenery, and great Blue Ridge Mountain views.
Pricing includes: Rental of boat, paddles, life jackets, safety orientation, river maps, use of dry bags, 5-gallon water jugs, access to private land for camping, and all required shuttles.
Trip Summary
This trip starts at our shop in Buchanan and flows downstream to the Glasgow public boat landing.
Day 1 Paddle 15.5 miles from Buchanan to Back Run Campground. River Map #5 Mile Marker 37.1 to 53.0.
Day 2 paddle 6 miles from Back Run campground to Glasgow public boat landing. River Map # 5, Mile marker 53.0 to 59.0.
It features miles of great current with numerous rapids suitable for canoes full of camping gear, gorgeous blue ridge mountain views, great fishing, swimming holes, and great camping.
Trip ends in Glasgow at the public boat landing and requires a 700 ft portage back to the parking lot from the boat ramp. Take out times are fixed with 11 AM or 3 PM choice only.
For groups with their own boats, we can also modify this reservation to pick up the group in Glasgow so once we launch your group they paddle back to your car parked in the Glasgow lot.
