We are continuously hiring for the following positions during the season until we fill our employee roster.   Twin River Outfitters is open April – October with the bulk of our business occurring during June – August.    Historically this job has been a good fit for college & high school student’s home for the summer, teachers, retired military, fire fighters, semi retired seniors, school bus drivers, folks looking for a fun summer job, folks between primary jobs staff looking for a fun 2nd job, & folks that love the outdoors.  We can pay more if you are able to work the full season, but also have plenty of summer only shifts available.   We offer competitive pay, flexible scheduling and can work around school, other jobs, or summer vacation dates.

Here are the primary jobs we hire for:

  • Shuttle Driver – River Host 
  • Bus Driver – River Host (With CDL, Passenger Endorsement, and current DOT Medical Card)
  • River Host Assistant / Non Driver 
  • Front Desk Staff

Position: Shuttle Driver – River Host

  • Weekly schedule for this position will vary depending on candidate availability. We encourage anyone qualified to apply. We will have shifts available for anywhere from 16 to 40 hours per week.
  • Availability for work on Saturdays and Sundays is an essential part of the position

Candidate must:

    • Be at least 21 years old (auto insurance requirement)
    • Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
    • Be able to lift 60 lbs.
    • Have experience driving trailers (some training will be provided)
    • Have a friendly demeanor and a genuine interest in customer happiness
    • Prior experience with customer service, outdoor recreation, wildlife and nature appreciation, and large vehicle operation will be helpful

Responsibilities include:

    • Driving a 14-passenger van with a boat trailer in tow.
    • Loading and unloading kayaks, canoes, rafts, and tubes onto vehicles and trailers, and bringing them to and from the river. This is physically demanding work.
    • Backing up the trailers at various river access sites.
    • Transport customers to boat landings, assist in boat launch as necessary.
    • Takes responsibility for assigned groups, leads customers through orientation, gear issue, transportation, and river launching process.  
    • Conduct river trip orientation briefings, map review, gear issue.
    • Safely load trailers with required boats, paddles, and gear.
    • Greet returning river customers help out of water
    • Process all rental gear for reissue:  collect, inspect, clean, & restock.
    • Help maintain vehicles (Gas, Oil, Cleaning, minor maintenance)
    • Clean property / facility as necessary  
    • Staying engaged during moments of downtime by self-starting on tasks such as cleaning vehicles, cleaning and repairing boats, running business-related errands, etc.
    • Give trip safety briefings to customers, and help launch them on river. This means public speaking and getting your feet wet.
    • Competitive starting hourly pay $13.25 to $16.00 / hour (commensurate with applicable experience), plus free use of TRO boats and equipment
    • Prior experience with customer service, paddling, and nature appreciation will be helpful

Position: Bus Driver

  • All duties of River Host – Driver
  • PLUS requirment to have a Commercial Drivers License with Passenger Endorsement – with a valid DOT Physical 
  • Previous bus driving experience preferred.
  • Competitive starting hourly pay $14.75 to $18.50 / hour (commensurate with applicable experience), plus free use of TRO boats and equipment

Position: River Host Assistant /Non Driver

  • Weekly hours will vary depending on staffing and candidate preference, usually between 16 and 40 hours per week. Availability for work on Saturdays and Sundays is an essential part of the position.

Candidate must:

    • Be able to lift 60 lbs.
    • Be 16 yrs or older
    • Have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, and reliable transportation to work.
    • Be comfortable working outdoors all day in the heat of the summer
    • Have a friendly demeanor and a genuine interest in customer happiness.

Responsibilities include:

    • Responsible for safely loading trailers of canoes & kayaks
    • Help safely launch customers in canoes or kayaks 
    • Giving trip river safety briefings to customers, and helping launch them on river.
    • Back up front desk staff as needed
    • Help issue all required trip gear including life jackets, dry boxes, paddles, and dry bags. 
    • Greet returning river customers help out of water
    • Clean & restock rental gear
    • Clean property / facility as necessary, including cutting grass and cleaning bathrooms as needed  
    • Learn river host duties so when you get old enough you can become driver
    • Staying engaged during moments of downtime by self-starting on tasks such as cleaning vehicles, cleaning and repairing boats, running business-related errands, etc.
  • Starting compensation is $12.50 /hr.  Team members also enjoy free use of TRO boats and equipment.

Position: Front Desk Team Member

  • Weekly hours will vary depending on staffing and candidate preference, usually between 16 and 40 hours per week.  Availability for work on Saturdays and Sundays is an essential part of the position.

Candidate must:

    • Be able to lift 60 lbs.
    • Have excellent computer and conversational skills on the phone and in person
    • Have a friendly demeanor and a genuine interest in customer happiness.
    • Have exceptional organizational skills and a mind for complicated logistics
    • Have a friendly demeanor and a genuine interest in customer happiness

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

    • Answering phone calls, taking reservations, and answering more questions
    • Greeting customers, answering questions, completing paperwork, & collecting payments
    • Use Fareharbor Reservation software to make customer reservations, check in staff, adjust trip resources, assign campsites, etc.
    • Answer phones in a friendly customer service minded manner answering both general and reservation specific questions.  (Weather, water levels, river conditions, general questions)
    • Updating other staff members on trip details and changes
    • Staying engaged during moments of downtime by self-starting on tasks such as cleaning facility, emptying trash,  updating social media, and replying to voicemails, & emails.
    • Keep retail area stocked
    • Prior experience with customer service, paddling, and nature appreciation will be helpful
    • Competitive starting hourly pay $12.00 to $15.00 / hour (commensurate with applicable experience), plus free use of TRO boats and equipment
