Twin River Outfitters Canoe Livery is proud to provide river trips to hundreds of scouts each year. Many come for a day trip, but the majority come for one of our overnight canoe camping adventures which make great weekend trips. Twin River Outfitters has some of the best whitewater canoe camping trips in Virginia. We can run paddling trips on over 100 miles of the James & Jackson Rivers in our area giving us numerous paddling options for your Troop to consider. Been before? Then try another river section! SCOUT CANOE CAMPING TRIPS – SPECIAL OFF SEASON DISCOUNTS
As a scout is always “THRIFTY”, Twin River Outfitters is pleased to offer Scout Groups special discounted pricing of 10% off any of our 2 day / 1 night trips for any group trip from March 15 thru May 15, and 15 September – 31 October. These rates are valid for scout groups of 16 participants or more and require 2 weeks advance reservations. Our most popular Scout trip is our 2 day canoe camping trips. Scouts arrive at our store in the morning where we run them through our check in process, load up all gear, and then drive them up the river to one of several put ins where they paddle for the day camping at one of several river side primitive camping locations. The next morning, the Scouts launch and paddle to the take out where we meet them at a predetermined time and drive them back to our Store then depart for their drive home.

1. Eagle Rock to Buchanan (22 miles with class I & II rapids and 13 miles of the VA Scenic River Section)
2. Springwood to Natural Bridge Station trip (24 miles with class I & II)
50 MILER AWARD QUALIFYING CANOE CAMPING TRIP
For troops seeking the 50 Miler Award, consider booking our 5 day 60 mile Glen Wilton to Snowden OR our 56 Mile Glen Wilton to Glasgow canoe trip on the Upper James River. Both theses trips contain lots of fun class I & II rapids, great mountain scenery, no portages around dams or low water bridges. Add to the canoe trip a 10 hour river clean up service project along the way and you have met the requirements to earn the 50 Miler Award. Typically run Sunday through Thursday OR Monday through Fridays. Pricing can be found on the multiday paddle camping trip page. This trip is not eligible for a group discount due to trip complexity. Pricing includes costs for 5 day, 4 nights on the Upper James River. Minimum group size of 8, group discounts do don’t apply. Prices exclude food or river guide fees.
